Red Corner Notice released by International Police Organization against Lashkar-e-Tayiba founder chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and brain behind the Mumbai terror strike Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. Red Corner Notice was issued against Saeed and Lakhvi on the basis of non-bailable warrant by Mumbai court as per the evidences collected by Mumbai police against their role in the 26 November, 2008 attack.
India has also sent evidence and appeal for issuing a similar warrant against Lashkar commander Zarar Shah and Abu Al Qama, but for that, Interpol needs to analysis the evidences against them. Red Corner Notices was released after the Central Bureau of Investigation approached the international agency for the same with non-bailable warrants issued by a trial court against Pakistan-based Saeed and Lakhvi. Interpol issues RCN against any accused after it receives all information and evidence against the victim from the country in which crime has been committed. Mumbai Court on June 23, issued non-bailable warrants against Saeed and 22 others, including Lakhvi and suspected military official Colonel R Saadat Ullah for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to carry out the Mumbai terror attack last November. Special Jamaat-ud-Dawage M L Tahaliyani had issued the warrant inquiring the Mumbai Police Commissioner and CBI director put to death through the Interpol and produce the absconders before the court soon. Saeed had been supposedly providing training to terrorists between 2007 and 2008.
Last Year UN Security Council had compulsory authorize on Jamaat-ud-Dawa, front organization to barred Let and stated it a terrorist outfit and tagged Saeed and Lakhvi as terrorists. Council had asked all member-countries to freeze their assets and imposed travel ban and arms embargo against them. Two other top leaders of Lashkar-e-Tayiba — Haji Muhammad Ashraf and Zaki-ur-Bahaziq — have also been declared as terrorists. India wanted a ban on Jamaat-ud-Dawa after Let was accountable for the terrorist attack in Mumbai. Whereas on the other hand US wanted a ban on Lakhvi, operations leader of Lashkar-e-Tayiba, Ashraf, a Jamaat-ud-Dawa financier and Bahaziq, an India-born Saudi citizen.
