Passengers of British Airways will get an opportunity to choose their preferred seats before hand into effect from 7 October onwards. This new benefit will give customers more control over their seating arrangement.

This charge will have an affect on those passengers looking for a guarantee window, aisle or an emergency exit seats and those who make sure to sit together on a flight. Price ranges for the preferred seat will also vary, for an economy class seat £10 per person, £50 for an emergency exit row seat and for an international one-way trip in business class will cost £60 and for a return trip in business will cost £120. Those passengers with gold membership and traveling in first class and are frequent flier with BA ‘s executive club will be able to choose seat without any charge, however silver card holders need to pay  £50 for an exit seat. At present BA allows passengers to reserve seats 24 hours prior to departure. New benefit of booking the seat can be done 10 to 4 days prior to departure. BA spokesperson uttered customers often request specific seat previously confirmation of seat was done 24 hours in advance or at take off time. Rochelle Turner said passengers really do not like to pay extra charges they rather prefer a flight or a headline price that includes everything and it is disappointing to see BA implementing charges and for most passengers BA is a budget airline.
