More than 40 people were killed in a suicide car bombing in Pakistan’s Swat valley including civilians, women, and child. Bibi Sabera Ahmadzai an Afghan nationality came to India to claim her status of legal rights of a wife after her husband Major Chandra Shekhar Pant bumped her. Delhi Court in India stated Sabera case as case of bigamy and court has ordered Major Pant to pay monthly maintenance.
Couple got married in Kabul according to Islamic rites. Court has ordered Major Pant to pay 8000 Indian rupees every month. Major Pant denied his marriage with Ms. Sabera and added saying his appearance is fictitious in the wedding video produced in the court as a proof. Pant told he was already married have two children. Court has just stated a temporary order full judgment is yet to be heard. While Sabera appeals action against Pant for bigamy, the trial court’s observation came after it found the incident to be a prima facie case of economic abuse falling within the definition of domestic violence. The court also confirmed Ms Ahmadzai’s relation with major Pant as a relationship in nature of marriage. Defense ministry has not responded or commented anything apart from saying ministry would investigate the case. Ms Ahmadzai lawyer Ravindra Garia said she would pursue the case further. He added saying the court should pass a similar final order so that she can get compensation for the mental trauma caused by Major Pant conduct. Ms Ahmadzai was working as a Hindi translator in a hospital in Kabul when she met her husband later on they decided to get married. Her husband converted to Islam after the approval from her family and relatives. They were together for near about 15 days then he was transferred back to India. He promised to return with his parents. In the span of six months he just called her thrice however his last conversation through phone he said that she was young and can marry again, he already have two kids and a wife.

Death toll of earthquake affected on Indonesian Island of Sumatra already went up to more than 1,000 and it is expected to rise. Rescuers team is struggling to remove thousands trapped inside after the magnitude quake struck close to city of Padang the capital of West Sumatra province.

Foreign Minister of Australia Stephen Smith sending aid supplies and a rescue team along with 10 engineering specialists. There is a report more than 100 Australian are victims of quake as Padang is a popular destination for surfers. Mokhairul Islam a Bangladeshi farmer has been crowned as a champion rat catcher of 2009. He killed more than 80,000 rats within a month. More than 500 farmers attended this ceremony organized by the government officials and was honored with a color television.
Mr. Islam a wealthy farmer owns 300 acres of land and six poultry farm. Mokhairul mentioned he killed double the tally set for all during last year. He explained rats as the most feared and dreadful enemy of farmers earlier he used poison to kill rats Officials introduced this competition to reduce rats as they destroy crops. Experts mentioned as Bangladesh the poorest country in the world and rats eat up 10 percent of its crops every year. Mr. Islam was honored to receive this award. Killing of rats has saved lots of money, invested that money on poultry feed, and having better crops. He added saying when he sees even single rats, does not even stop to think, just kill it. He used to deposit the tails of dead rats at agricultural office in Gazipur district as tails increased later they took the figure of 83,450 based on faith. However, there are doubts on the achievement period some reports said February while other reports state as first eight month of the year. In 2008, Binoy Kumar killed 39,650 rats.

Senior Peter Galbraith being fired out from his position regarding a disagreement about the presidential election held on Afghan. However, UN officials mentioned Mr. Galbraith has not been fired but there are chances of being detached from the mission. Recently Mr. Galbraith annoyed Afghan President Hamid Karzai suggesting for a complete recount of vote. A roadside bomb smashed and blew up passenger bus on highway southern city of Kandahar in Afghanistan. Zalmai Ayoubi spokesperson of provincial government said it killed not less than 12 civilians counting women and children.

National carrier Air India is in dilemma after not more than 150 executive pilots from non-union category went on sick leave for the fourth consecutive day of protest. Pilots are protesting against management judgment of cutting down financial incentives by 50 percent.
Face to face talk between pilots and management was organized they failed to achieve any clarification or outcome as both sides refused to agree. Previously at the beginning of the month protest by pilots of Jet Airways brought about disorder and interruption to passengers. Hundreds of passengers marooned at several airports heading to angry argument. Around 10 international flights counting a flight to Malaysia were cancelled in Chennai airport. A daily flight from Chennai to Kuala Lumpur was cancelled and passengers are put on to the low cost carrier Air India Express flight. Booking of flights has been suspended for next fifteen days. Ten domestic flights from Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai apart from this flights leading to Kabul, Katmandu, New York and other destination covering inner state and other countries were cancelled. Madhavan Nambiar civil aviation secretary passed out a supposition of Air India shut down.
